Youth Challenge Cup 2023 Rules -*POSTPONED – Date TBA*
Games are played with the official FIFA rules. Exceptions are below.
- 3 aside, No Goalkeeper
- NO COACHING ON SIDELINE ALLOWED DURING MATCHES
- Teams guilty of coaching may result in forfeit of points
- No club or Academy teams
- 5 player roster minimum (7 max)
- Two 10 minute halves, 2 minute Half-time break
- 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss
- In the event of a points tie, head 2 head will be used, then goal difference
- Each team plays each team in their group once
- All players must wear the UT7 shirt provided
- Shin pads strongly encouraged
- Rolling substitutions (must acknowledge referee before entering)
- No Off-sides
- Throw-ins or kick-ins allowed. (can not score directly from throw/kick-in)
- Free Kicks: All free kicks will be indirect. Opponents must be three (3) yards away
- Goal Kicks must start anywhere along the end line
- Penalty Kicks: Direct kick taken from the center of the midfield line with all players behind the midfield line and the player taking the kick. (sudden death PKs taken from end line)
- Can not score directly from Goal Kick
- Yellow cards – 3 accumulated = 1 match suspension (resets after Group Stage)
- Red cards – 1 match suspension.
- Winner gets UT7 trophy and prize. (Additional prizes to 2nd and 3rd place)
- NO FOUL OR ABUSIVE LANGUAGE
- ANY FOUL OR ABUSIVE LANGUAGE TO REFS WILL RESULT IN AUTOMATIC RED CARD, A SECOND OFFENSE WILL RESULT IN SUSPENSION FROM TOURNAMENT
- NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL ALLOWED
The Tournament Director will have final authority on all event disputes and issues as well as interpretations of Tournament Rules.
